AUTISM ACCEPTANCE DAY CELEBRATION IN ANNAPOLIS!!
Tuesday, April 2, 2024
11 AM to 12:30 PM – Speakers, Lunch, and Festivities

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO FLOOR RESOLUTION/PROCLAMATION. IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING, THIS EVENT STARTS AT 11 AM AT SAINT ANNE’S PARISH HOUSE AND HALL.

Join us to celebrate Autism Acceptance Day in Annapolis on April 2, 2024!  This year, the Autism Acceptance Day Celebration Coalition will be joined by elected officials from the Maryland Senate, House of Delegates, and the Maryland Department of Disabilities for our celebration and day of advocacy. Celebrate with us as you hear from Marylanders with autism leading up to a luncheon and dance party at Saint Anne’s Parish House and Hall!

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Join The Arc Maryland, Maryland Department of Disabilities, Hussman Institute for Autism, Pathfinders for Autism, Autism Society Maryland, Lower Shore Autism Community, Brown on the Spectrum, Autism Society Baltimore Chesapeake, xMinds, and Charles County Autism & Developmental Disabilities Parent Support Group, for food (we will have gluten-free options on the menu), music, and dancing, and to hear from self-advocates, as we celebrate Autism Acceptance Day!

The Maryland Senate, House of Delegates, and the Department of Disabilities will honor individuals with autism and their families with declarations recognizing April 2 as Autism Acceptance Day in Maryland.

Celebrate with us from 11 AM to 12:30 PM as you hear from Marylanders with autism, enjoy lunch and dancing, and maybe meet a few legislators at Saint Anne’s Parish House and Hall, 199 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD, 21401. Please note that this takes place in the hall on Duke of Gloucester Street, not the church in the middle of the circle. Your maps may give you some trouble with it. When attempting to locate the building, you can enter 203 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD, 21401, in your GPS, and go to the building immediately to its left (Down the hill, please see the photo at the bottom).  The capacity for the event is limited to 100 attendees, so please register as soon as possible if you plan to attend.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Accessibility and accommodations:

Wheelchair-Accessible entrance for the celebration at Saint Anne’s Parish House and Hall: please use the back entrance of the building. When attempting to locate the back entrance, you can enter 146 Charles Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 (that address gets you across the street from the Parish’s parking lot in your GPS). Please don’t park here, this is a private parking lot for their school, and your car will be towed, however, this will allow you to see the accessible entrance.
